AN INCREDIBLE EVENING AT THE CROFOOT

The next time you watch the Oscars on television, take a step back, pause, and then recall how beautiful the 2011 Target Awards evening was orchestrated.  It wasn’t only the night, and it wasn’t only the atmosphere, this special evening was brought together by the beautiful people.


“The Oscars” pales in comparison to our own very special gala evening, held this year at a delightful, new venue; the exceptional CroFoot Ballroom in “uptown” Pontiac.  Truly, the atmosphere reflected a level of energy not previously experienced at the Target Awards evening.
 

The glamour abounded for this colorful evening, and Detroit’s own Lisa Jessewein as Mistress of Ceremonies carried the theme beautifully, along with music perfection by The Science Fair.

 

For this year’s re-cap, we shall rely on the wonderful array of photography you see here to bring you the story.  Even if we were fortunate enough to have world-class writer such as Edna St. Vincent Millay describe our Target Awards evening, it would be virtually impossible to do justice to this year’s evening by mere words. These photos and captions do an exceptional job of letting you visibly enjoy the pleasures experienced by those who did attend.


The Target Award winners themselves deserve additional accolades, beginning with the annual honor bestowed on the “person of the year” who received the dmaDetroit Lifetime Achievement Award; Campbell Ewald’s Ms. Janice Easton. The Direct Marketing Association of Detroit is truly grateful for the many years she has contributed to our industry.
 

The other award of exceptional importance is given to the direct marketing program that is, in fact, considered “the best in class.”  This year, Meredith Integrated Marketing and their Jeep Grand Cherokee Launch Target Direct Marketing program earned this coveted award.


For this year, the other “big” winner, in terms of total awards captured, was Doner Advertising with a total of seven Target Awards including four First Place trophies and three Second Place winners.

Expressions of extreme delight poured out of anyone who was asked about the evening – even dmaDetroit’s President, Alex DellaTorre described it as an “incredible night.”
